Description
The perfect answer to the question, "what did you get up to this weekend?"
A fully-guided, round-trip tour to Reims and Epernay, riding through the heart of champagne countryside, visiting the cellars of a Champagne House.
The tour starts early in Folkstone on Saturday in the UK where we meet up as a group a short distance away from the Eurotunnel entrance. We take the train together as a group to Calais, from where we disembark to start our ride.
We set off, keeping off the autoroutes wherever possible as we head through France to Reims, the heart of Champagne. On Sunday we start by riding out to find the perfect viewpoint to see the vines heavy with grapes just before they're harvested by hand, as we make our way to Epernay, the second principle home of Champagne. Resting here for lunch before we head back to one of the principle Champagne Houses in Reims where we'll visit their cellars, hear how champagne is made before tasting a glass and toasting the tour. That evening there is time to wander around Reims. On Monday we head back on a new return route to Calais and home.
We aim to be back in the UK by 8 pm on Sunday, where the tour concludes as we disembark the Eurotunnel train at Folkstone.
